3 MISTAKES - 3 SOLUTIONS

1st MISTAKE: HANGING ON THE POLE

QUESTION: Is your inside shoulder touching your ear and your armpit close to the pole?

PROBLEM: You are hanging through your shoulders and not engaging them.

SOLUTION: Roll your shoulders back and down engaging your shoulders blades. Think you are squeezing a pencil between your shoulder blades. You have to engage your shoulders before your spin not during the movement. Think you want to be big and touch the sky... you will pull more with your top hand. Your body posture will be perfect if you use the push-pull technique.


2nd MISTAKE: NO MOMENTUM - NO SPIN

QUESTION: You don't spin enough and you finish the movement touching the pole? PROBLEM: You are not giving enough momentum to spin. If you finish touching the pole, you are not using the push-pull position by engaging your shoulders blades before the spin. SOLUTION: To create the momentum, you have to lift your outside leg quite high and draw a big circle until you lift the inside leg to finish the movement. Think you have a big circle of bottles on the floor and you want to kick them with your outside leg.


3rd MISTAKE: NOT SITTING ON A CHAIR

QUESTION: Is your chair not looking like a chair?

PROBLEM: You are bending your legs backward.

SOLUTION: After swinging with your outside leg and pressing the pole with your outside hand, you have to lift your inside leg and bring both legs together in a sitting position by bringing your knees forward and not your feet backward.
